You know, I'd totally move to Sweden... except that it's cold, really cold, and there's not much sunlight six months of the year, and I don't speak Swedish.
Ten weeks of paid vacation! Sixteen MONTHS of maternity leave! Now that's caring about the family. The conservative talking heads who support the American Corporatocracy have no idea about "family." All they care about is the almighty dollar. And they use moral issues to keep people in fear and under their control.
However, if you watch this video, your ribs will hurt, from laughter. What makes it especially funny, is that George Takai is in it. This is from the same comedy troop that did Prop 8: The Musical. Brilliant stuff this.
But inevitably, you'll think about how stupid people are. As if I care whether Jim and Joe down the street get married and keep house. It ain't none of my business, and it ain't none of yours either. If you think some sky god is going to get mad about it, why don't you let him come down here and let us know in person how angry he is about it? I'm waiting, but I won't hold my breath.
I finally got around to watching the rest of that Daily Show episode that I posted the first part of on Friday night. I'm glad I did, because the part right after is hysterical. These people are fucking nuts. Yes, we have yet another teabagging pun.
At any rate, I learned a lot from watching this. I learned that "overnight" and "going on for a long time" are not mutually exclusive. Why, I had no idea! Who knew?
I like history, especially medieval and ancient. I like archaeology and studying the history of religions. I love travel and wish I could do so more often.
I was going to pick "F" for that last question, but realized, they'd *like* it.
