Republican Senator John Ensign had an affair!

Surprise, surprise.

What is it with these self righteous conservatives who think everyone else needs to follow their version of "morality" but then don't bother to apply it to themselves? Bloody hypocrites.

Sen. Ensign quits GOP post after admitting affair

...The Nevada lawmaker is a member of the Christian ministry Promise Keepers and has championed causes pushed by the GOP's conservative religious base while seeking to raise his political profile for a possible presidential campaign...

The disclosure resurrected questions about a two-week period in 2002, when Ensign abruptly dropped from public view. A person familiar with that episode, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter, said Tuesday the senator told a close associate the absence followed an earlier affair...
And of course it's not his first affair. He's apparently had others. This from a man who is vehemently against two people of the same sex getting married and being faithful to one another. If you're going to be a lying, hypocritical bastard, the least you can do is not expect everyone else to follow your supposed "moral" code. I personally don't give a damn what you do. If he wanted to cheat on his wife, whatever, ain't none of my business. However, it is my business when he wants to tell me how to live my life. He can take his "morals" and shove them where the sun doesn't shine.

  2. Oh! I did not know of his Promise keepers affiliation. That's rich!

What a load of crap. At least he resigned & spared us all that much more muck.

Apparently that *What happens in Vegas* slogan did not hold true for him. Oy!

  3. What a turd! I can just hear him saying to his kids, "do as I say, not as I do."

  4. Too bad he didn't resign from the Senate. All he did was give up his post. A lying hypocrite isn't fit to serve this country. I'd rather have a flaming drag queen prostitute be my Senator than him. At least the drag queen isn't lying or hiding anything.

How do you feel about Barney Frank?

  6. Barney Frank? Did he tell me I should practice some morality code and then turn around and not do so? I must have missed it if he did. He's certainly not a hypocrite like Ensign, as far as I can tell.

Hypocrisy: n. The claim or pretense of holding beliefs, feelings, standards, qualities, opinions or virtues that one does not actually possess and by extension expecting others to live by said beliefs, feelings, standards, qualities or virtues while failing to do so yourself.

ALL politicians are lowlifes because they have to sell themselves out to get anywhere and I despise them all for it. But this country isn't a democracy, it's a corporate oligarchy and if you don't sell your soul to Wal-Mart or Microsoft or the pharmaceutical companies, you won't get above being on the city council.

BTW, I'm sure the NeoCons hate Barney Frank because he's outspoken and gay. So, what do you think about Barney Frank? I can't tell from your comment whether you love him or hate him or neither.
