They'd Really Rather Burn the Books Instead
Some dipshit parent got mad that The Diary of Anne Frank has explicit material in it, and school officials in Virginia caved to it. And you wonder why American children are some of the lowest ranking in the Industrialized world. Our education system here is a joke.
If these "Christian" (and I use that term loosely) don't want their children to learn anything, they should home-school them. And hide the Bible from them while they're at it, because the Bible is about a hundred times more illicit and graphic than The Diary of Anne Frank. Of course the dipshit parent has probably never read either.
So there you have it. This is the exact same reason why an entire nation of people went along with the Nazis and allowed millions to die in death camps. Because they were stupid and uneducated chattel.

Those people didn't care the slightest about "illicit" materials. This is a case of blatant antisemitism.
ReplyDeleteIt's tough when the world doesn't conform to your bigoted ignorant childish emotional views. So you don't read, you listen to Beck, Hannity, and Limbaugh and you go through life believing the "truths" they want you to and consistently voting to be a Serf to the Republican Party.
ReplyDeleteThe silver lining in all this is that banned books cause heightened interest. What is it they don't want me to know???
ReplyDeleteThe library probably now has a waiting list to read the book!
In Oregon, Parents in a rural logging county wanted Dr. Seuss's "The Lorax" book banned.... saying it was bad for the children to learn that raping & pillaging the land was a bad thing.
The court ruled the book could stay in the school libraries.
I wonder if the judge had fun with it?
